Legendary broadcaster Gay Byrne is back tonight with a one-off special that sees him with a reunited Boyzone celebrating their 20th anniversary.

The lads debuted on The Late Late Show back in 1993 with a performance that – for better or worse – went down in the show’s history as one of its most memorable moments.

Tonight the reunited Boyzone members Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch are interviewed by Gay Byrne, and take a look at some of their greatest hits along the way.

They also remember their friend and fellow band member Stephen Gately, who tragically died while on holiday in Majorca in 2009.

“I think it’s very exciting for us to be back here,” says Ronan Keating when talking about the band’s return to RTÉ and meeting once more with Gay Byrne. “It’s a big year for Boyzone, celebrating 20 years. “

“Well, it comes as rather a shock to realise that it is 20 years since they made their historic appearance on The Late Late Show,” says Gay Byrne. “Little did we know what a success story would follow.”

For One Night Only is on tonight (Saturday August 24) at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
