The first trailer for NBC's new TV drama Believe has been released.

The series - due Stateside in early 2014 - is from JJ Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness) and director Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men).

Believe focuses on the relationship between convict Tate (played by Super 8's Jake McLaughlin) and Bo (newcomer Johnny Sequoyah), a young girl with special powers that he has been tasked to protect.

Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil), Jamie Chung (Once Upon a Time) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) will also star in the sci-fi series.

Believe was recently ordered to series by NBC alongside seven other new dramas, including a new take on Dracula, a remake of classic cop show Ironside and the Gillian Anderson thriller Crisis.
