Filming is underway in Dublin on two original, Cecelia Ahern-scripted dramas for German public service broadcaster ZDF's Heart Cinema series.

Cecelia Ahern: Zwischen Himmel und Hier (Between Heaven and Here) and Cecelia Ahern: Mein ganzes halbes Leben (My Whole Half Life) will film at locations in Dublin and Munich until mid-July.

Ahern said: "I'm honoured and excited to have been asked to create this series for ZDF. I hope that Germany and all my German fans enjoy seeing a slice of Ireland."

My Whole Half Life tells the story of Amelia (Yvonne Catterfeld), who sets out to trace her Irish roots and is offered the chance of a "romantic new beginning".

In Between Heaven and Here, Franziska (Julia Richter) arrives in Ireland for Amelia's wedding, with both Franziska and the best man (Roman Knizka) having to deal with problems in matters of the heart.

Among the Irish cast members for the dramas are Stuart Dunne, Kerry O'Brien, Brendan Conroy and Valerie Connor.
