Michael Bublé, whose wife is expecting a baby boy in August, has said that he "...secretly hoped for a girl".
Three-time Grammy winner told American NBC TV show Today was asked about his reaction when he learned that baby Bublé was a boy.
He said: "Truly, I hope it's healthy, don't care if he's gay, straight, doesn't matter, as long as he's happy, but I had secretly hoped for a girl."
He explained: "Girls are always daddy's girls. Girls never leave dad, they're always daddy's girls.
"Boys, by the time he's 16, he's gonna want nothing to do with me."
The singer who is married to Argentinian actress Luisana Lopilato said that this was true of him adding that he was a "rotten kid" but now he and his dad are "very close."
