The great British public have once again shown that they like their rock `n' roll mostly nice and tasteful in a new favourite album of all time poll which puts Coldplay and Keane in the two top spots.

Coldplay’s second (and best) album A Rush of Blood to The Head, released in 2002, proved more popular with BBC Radio 2 listeners than Pink Floyd, The Stones and The Beatles in the poll which was held to tie in with the recent BBC season, The Golden Age of the Album.

Keane's debut Hopes And Fears took second place, with Duran Duran's Rio in third. Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon came fourth, while The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band managed eighth place.
