Girls Aloud’s record label Polydor have dismissed reports that they had dropped the pop act.

The group recently announced that they were calling it a day after the final night of their Ten: Greatest Hits Tour in Liverpool. Fans of the group had accused Polydor of not renewing their deal.

The label has now put the record straight, tweeting "So you all know @GirlsAloud's announcement was their decision, nothing to do with us. We're as sad as you, but we wish them all the best!"
The group tweeted their decision and sent their “love and support” to the fans.

Derry girl Nadine Coyle has said she didn’t want the group to split and had done everything she could to stop it from happening.
