Emmerdale filming is believed to have come to a standstill due to recent weather conditions in Leeds.

The set of the popular soap has been engulfed in heavy snow, which is set to delay filming, according to reports.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, a source said: "Emmerdale has been badly hit by snow and the cast are freezing. They are wearing big padded coats between takes.

"Some outdoor scenes will be cancelled if it doesn't clear up."

It looks like the cast of rival soap, Coronation Street, are also finding in difficult to work in the icy weather, with the insider adding: "Coronation Street has managed to avoid most of the snow but the cast are still having to cover up while filming summer scenes. Hand warmers and hot drinks are being passed around to keep everyone toasty."

With Emmerdale being filmed up to six weeks in advance, it could be unexpected summer at Home Farm.
