Corontion Street actress Michelle Keegan has reportedly been offered £300,000 to stay at the soap for another three years.
Her current contract isn’t up until November but it seems new Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn is keen for Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre, to sign a long-term contract as soon as possible.
Three-year deals are virtually unheard of in ITV at the moment, but Blackburn is so eager to keep Keegan on the cobbles, that he is also willing to sweeten the deal with a £300,000 pay offer.
Blackburn’s swift action comes amidst rumors that Keegan is considering a move to London to be near her boyfriend Mark Wright and to “spread her wings” professionally.
A soap insider told the Daily Star Sunday: “Stuart is keen to negotiate a new contract with Michelle. He sees her as a very important cast member and wants her there for the long term.
"Three-year contracts are virtually unheard of at ITV these days but it shows how much they value her.
"The writers are hoping she'll commit to the Street long-term as she's a great character to write for and they want to give her some major storylines."
