Mr Spring is the main man when it comes to your late night, weekend soundtrack on RTÉ 2fm, but did you know that each show is accompanied by a two-hour video mix.
Speaking to RTÉ Ten, Mr. Spring said: “The video is a weekly thing, detailing how the weekly show's mix is prepared. Part bedroom TV, part nerd playtime!
“It's also a cooler way of sharing the mix after the show. I think we have all seen music on the internet, and all you get to look at, as it plays, is a picture or two?
“The Mr Spring video-mix is the solution to those 'Oh my, this is boring to look at' mixes that pollute the internet!”
He added: “Each week we not only select the finest new music, and blend it into a two-hour party mix, but we also connect visually with random things to stare at while the mix goes down.
“Sometimes we have guest webcams, sometimes people will share what they are watching on TV with us, sometimes we just let nature take over.”
Now in its third year, the Springsession video mix began as a 30-minute webcam broadcast and has developed into “two hours of nausea-inducing flickering and glitching [watched by]...loyal patriots every week.
“So, if you need some flashing colours, new music and utterly random intrusions by info-mercials, zombies and malfunctioning games consoles, stick on the latest videomix, full-screen that badboy, and ask anyone with photo-sensitive epilepsy to leave the room.”
