After almost 30 years away from the Broadway stage, Oscar-winning acting Robert De Niro is set to direct a musical adaptation of A Bronx Tale.
The 69-year-old Goodfellas star bought the film rights to the story after seeing Chazz Palminteri perform his one-man show in New York in the 1990s, and the 1993 movie marked his directorial debut.
Now, DeNiro is set to bring the tale to Broadway with music by Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan and choreography by Sergio Trujillo, according to W.E.N.N.
Palminteri, who wrote and performed the original play, will be re-writing the show and music star Tommy Mottola is producing.
The play was last seen on Broadway in 2007.
