TG4’s brand new show searching for the best traditional Irish talent act in Ireland begins next Sunday night, February 24.
Each year the GAA hosts Scór Na nÓg and each year thousands of children and teenagers across the county battle it out under the banner of their GAA club, in their chosen category, in music, song, dance or performance, each hoping to represent their counties in the national final. Next Sunday night on TG4, at at 8.00pm, they take it to the next level in Scór Encore.
Over 13 episodes, Scór Encore will feature the top performers from this year’s Scór Na nÓg competition, each hoping to be crowned TG4’s most talented traditional performer, 2013.
The series is hosted by Barbara Nic Dhonnacha and the three judges are Roy Galvin, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha and Aindrias De Staic .
Roy Galvin, a former winner of the Senior Scór competition at the young age of 14. Roy is a multi-talented musician, a master of the tin whistle, uileann pipes, mandolin and flute. A former professional ballet dancer, Roy is also an avid set dancer.
Singer Méav Ní Mhaolchatha is a founder member of US hit group Celtic Woman, and features on five of their hugely successful DVDs and CDs. Méav has also released three successful solo albums including Celtic Journey, which debuted in the top ten in Billboards World Music charts.
Aindrias De Staic is a multi-award winning actor, writer, comedian and musician. His acting roles have taken him across the world from Ros na Rún to Neighbours.
