Dublin singer-songwriter Declan O'Rourke will perform at a pre-Oscar ceremony to honour his fellow Dub Colin Farrell this week in Hollywood.
O’Rourke will play at the annual Oscar Wildes ceremony in Santa Monica, LA this Thursday (February 21), as part of the annual event organised by the US-Ireland Alliance which honours Irish actors’ contribution to film.
This year the shindig takes place at Bad Robot, production HQ of director J. J. Abrams, who was recently been selected to direct the latest instalments in the Star Wars saga.
Past recipients of the Oscar Wilde award include actors Michelle Williams, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Paul Rudd, and J. J. Abrams, while the typical “green carpet” has included Julia Roberts, Jon Hamm to Orlando Bloom and Steven Spielberg.
O'Rourke, whose songs have been recorded by Josh Groban and Paul Weller, follows in the footsteps of Julie Feeney, Bell X1 and Van Morrison who have all previously performed at the Oscar Wildes.
