Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, who played the part of Ron Weasley in the fantasy films, has landed the lead role as a superhero in a new US TV show.

The CBS pilot, called Super Clyde, is the brainchild of My Name is Earl writer Greg Garcia.

The 24-year-old actor is set to take on the role of a fast-food worker and avid comic book lover who decides to become a superhero, according to Collider.

Grint can next be seen in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman.
