Amanda Byram presented the award for Best Supporting Actor to Domhnall Gleeson at the IFTAs last night and paid tribute to all those from Ireland working in the film and TV industry.

The Dublin-born presenter, who is currently living in London, came back home last night to present an award at the IFTAs and catch up with her friends and family in Ireland.

Speaking to RTÉ after she had presented Domhnall Glesson with his Best Supporting Film actor gong Amanda said: “I love being back in Ireland, it really is just amazing. I love coming home no matter what but for something like this I think it is so important to be supportive of our home grown talent.

She added: “I think if you encourage something it makes it more excellent. 10 years on and we are still going strong. And I think the Irish film and television industry is going from strength to strength.

“To see here tonight the actors, the producers, the directors, the writers, across the board, the talent is overwhelming.”
