Jason Bateman has been cast in Game Night, and will also co-produce the forthcoming film.
Deadline reports that New Line Cinema has acquired the film from a pitch by Mark Perez and will develop it as an ensemble comedy.
The premise centres around a group of couples who have regular get togethers to play games, but things get serious when they find themselves embroiled in a real murder mystery.
Bateman recently wrapped production on his directorial debut Bad Words, which he also starred in and produced.
He will next be seen in Identity Thief which opens this March.
