Irish Folk Furniture, directed by Tony Donoghue and produced by Cathal Black, has been chosen as one of the winners in the Short Film categories at the Sundance Film Festival in the US.
The film was honoured with the Short Film Jury Award: Animation and was made under the Frameworks scheme, which is co-financed by the Irish Film Board/Bord Scannán na hÉireann, RTÉ, the Arts Council and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
The Sundance synopsis of Irish Folk Furniture reads: "In Ireland, old hand-painted furniture is often associated with hard times, with poverty, and with a time many would rather forget.
"In this animated documentary, 16 pieces of traditional folk furniture are repaired and returned home."
