Noomi Rapace has been cast in the forthcoming film Animal Rescue.
The actress signed on to the project after Fox Searchlight offered her the female lead starring opposite The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy, Variety reports.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Prometheus star was first linked to the Michael Roskam-helmed project in December.
Animal Rescue follows a criminal (Hardy) who wants to straighten out his life, but becomes involved in a failed heist and a death caused by a lost pitbull.
Raprace will take on the role of Nadia, a woman who has a scar across her neck who crosses paths with the protagonist when he finds a wounded puppy outside her home.
The film is based on a short story by renowned crime writer Dennis Lehane, who is also adapting the screenplay.
