Australian actress Toni Collette is set to take on a new television project from Jerry Bruckheimer.
The actress will play a character embroiled in a conspiracy theory in the thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hostages tells the story of a Washington-based surgeon who is chosen to operate on the President of the United States after which her family is taken hostage and she must try to save their lives.
The project comes from Jerry Bruckheimer Telelvision and Warner Bros TV and the pilot for CBS is on its way. It will be written and directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow).
Collette was most recently seen on TV screens in The United States of Tara, which ended in 2011, for which she won a Golden Globe for her performance of a character with multiple personalities.
