Funnyman Andy Samberg is set to star in the pilot for a potential new show to be shown on FOX.
The 34-year-old actor and former Satruday Night Live star has agreed to be a part of the still-un-named show, which will see him star as one of a diverse group of detectives at a New York police precinct, according to TVGuide.com.
Speaking about Samberg's involvement in the project, Parks and Recreation writing team, Mike Schur and Dan Goor said: "Andy's hilarious, and he was the first guy we thought of when we designed the part.
"From the moment we mentioned his name, everyone at Universal Television and FOX was 100% on-board. Andy Loved the pitch, and it all came together really quickly. We couldn't be happier."
Samberg can currently be seen in the BBC Three sitcom Cuckoo.
