Actress Tina O'Brien is being tipped for a return to the cobbles as her former character Sarah-Louise Platt.
The Sunday Mirror reports that producer Stuart Blackburn, who takes up his series producer role on the cobbles in January, is willing the actress to return to her former role as well as daughter Bethany, now a teenager.
The newspaper reports that the former Emmerdale producer is lining up the actress to return as Sarah-Louise Platt next year.
Sarah was last seen on the cobbles in 2007, when she fled with daughter Bethany to Milan.
Speaking to the paper earlier this year, the actress indicated a willingness to return and a fear her role would be re-cast, following the return of her character's half-brother, Nick Tilsly, re-cast with Ben Price in 2009.
The actress said: "Sometimes I think they could bring Sarah-Lou back but with a different face, played by someone else", adding "it would be awful!"
Since leaving the soap, O'Brien has taken parts in Waterloo Road, Accused and Call The Midwife. In 2008, the actress gave birth to her first child, Scarlett, and two years later O'Brien competed in Strictly Come Dancing.
