Sean Bean has been cast in a TNT pilot from Homeland executive producer Howard Gordon.
The Game of Thrones star has replaced previously cast Brendan Fraser in Legends, and will play a deep-cover operative in the drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Legends follows deep-cover operative Martin Odum (Bean) who has an uncanny ability to transform himself into a different person for each job. However, his own identity comes into question when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn't who he thinks he is.
Gordon, Jeffrey Nachmanoff (The Day After Tomorrow), Alexander Cary (Homeland) and Jonathan Levin (Charmed) developed the project based on a book by the spy writer Robert Littell.
Bean steps into the role after Fraser exited the production in November, citing creative differences with Gordon.
David Semel will direct and executive produce the Fox 21 project.
