Pat Byrne, the winner of the first series of RTÉ's The Voice of Ireland, releases his debut album All or Nothing on Friday November 16, and you can watch exclusive performances all this week (November 12 to 16) on RTÉ TEN.
The first clip is Byrne's cover of Raglan Road and in the coming days you will see performances of the album's title track, first single End of the World and a cover of the Of Monsters and Men hit Little Talks.
Byrne recorded All or Nothing during the summer in the UK, co-writing with his Voice mentor Bressie and The Coronas' Danny O'Reilly and working with producer Brian Rawling's team at Metrophonic Studios.
"There was a whole album to come up with, which I was adamant wouldn't contain any covers, so we shut the doors and went into songwriting lockdown!" said Byrne.
"Deciding what to leave off All or Nothing is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. After much agonising, I came up with the 11 and two possible bonus tracks, which we recorded pretty much live in Phil Collins' place, Genesis Studios. I was sitting there pinching myself as these brilliant musicians played my songs."
Commenting on the recording of the album, Universal Music Ireland MD, Mark Crossingham, said: "We wanted Pat to step outside his comfort zone, and to challenge him to become the songwriter and recording artist we know he is.
"To say that he has delivered would be an understatement. We've heard stories of Pat playing impromptu sets around the town he stayed in, he absolutely loved his time there. And he will be well prepared for the live and promotional road he's about to embark on with the album release. We got lucky with Pat: he's a star."
