Eastenders actress Charlie Brooks has admitted that being separated from her daughter is going to be her toughest challenge while taking part in I'm a Celebrity...
Charlie and her daughter Kiki have been inseparable over the last few months as they have enjoyed a mother/daughter road trip across Europe, camping out under the stars together after the actress got permission to take some time out from her role as Janine Butcher in EastEnders.
And now as she prepares to go into the jungle, the 31-year-old confides that it’s going to be hard not being, seeing or talking to her daughter every day.
“From a selfish point of view, it’s going to be hard,” says Charlie. “I will miss her a lot but I know she is with my family and I know she will be looked after well.”
Explaining why she wanted to take part, Charlie says she loves new adventures.
“I have been camping a lot and I love it,” she says. “I haven’t jumped out of a plane, but I have done some bungee jumps before and so when I got offered this, I decided to accept.
“I have surprised myself by saying yes, but now I am going I am really excited.”
The actress also revealed she plans to remain positive about the challenges that lie ahead of her. Says the star: “I don’t really have any phobias but the thought of rats crawling all over me is not very nice. I am also dreading the eating trials, but I am just trying to remain positive about it all!”
As to whether she is dreading anyone entering the jungle, Charlie is a great believer in giving everyone a chance. “I don’t think you should judge anyone before you know them," she says. “I am not going to make a fuss.”
The actress won’t reveal what luxury item she is going to take into the celebrity camp, but make-up definitely will not be high on her list.
“Oh gosh I am not arsed about make-up and it’s not going to be my luxury item,” she says, laughing. “I am sure there will be a glamour model in there who will bring make-up if I need it!”
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! kicks off on TV3 and ITV this Sunday.
