The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has topped Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List for the third time in a row.

30-year-old Middleton beat Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain to maintain her place at the top. She will grace the cover of the September cover of the magazine after a year of impressing in the style stakes with her mix of high street and high fashion brands.

Other fashionistas acknowledged in the list were Alicia Keys, rapper Jay Z, actor Colin Firth and his wife Livia, American footballer Tom Brady, actress Diane Kruger and New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham.

Although Middleton's husband Prince William wasn't included on the list, her brother-in-law Prince Harry made his first appearance on the style list, coming in at just under 30.

The Vanity Fair best-dressed rundown is voted for by more than 2,000 fashion industry professionals, journalists and taste-makers as well as the best-dressed Hall of Fame members.
