The current season of Casualty comes to an end this weekend with a spectacular two-part episode.

Beginning tonight and concluding tomorrow, the long-running BBC medical drama is set for a sensational finale.

A vigil held for a local man, who died after being stunned by the police, spirals fatally out of control - with dramatic consequences for the police and the ED team.

Lloyd (Michael Obiora) and Scarlett (Madeleine Mantock) attend a vigil for local man Wesley Royce. It begins peacefully, but as tensions build, trouble breaks out between the crowd and the police.

As the violence worsens Lloyd and Scarlett become separated. Seduced by the atmosphere, Scarlett does something she’ll live to regret.

Jeff (Matt Bardock) and Dixie (Jane Hazlegrove) are also caught up in the violence when they try to treat a young mother who’s suffering from anaphylactic shock.

As the baying crowd try to stop the ambulance getting through, Jeff and Dixie have to use all their experience to get the dying Amber to the ED.

Meanwhile Yvonne (Rachel Shelley) and Jordan (Michael French) are called to give a statement to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which is investigating Wesley Royce’s death.

Under fire from the investigators, Yvonne thinks Jordan isn’t supporting her and they argue.

Frustrated and now off the case, Yvonne sees the situation worsen and ventures out into the night to take matters into her own hands.

Casualty is on BBC ONE at 9.20pm
