She may have only written two songs on her new album, but Cheryl reckons it is her “best work” to date.
The Call My Name singer has revealed to the BBC that while only two of her songs made it onto her new album A Million Lights, she has in fact written lots of songs, but she doesn’t want people to hear the personal nature of the lyrics.
Speaking to the BBC 28-year-old Cheryl said: ''Every record I've made, there are songs I've written that I haven't put out because... well, I don't want to. I write for my own pleasure sometimes.''
She added: ''But you have to connect with something you're singing about. I'm not going to sing about a subject I've not got any feeling for.''
The Parachute hitmaker is thrilled with her new album, though she admits it has been a long wait for fans. She said: ''It's been a long time coming. But I think it's the best work I've done''.
A Million Lights will be released on June 18.
