Charlize Theron has spoken out in support of Irish actor, Michael Fassbender who missed out on an Oscar nomination for his role in Shame.
The actress who claims to have been a huge fan of Fassbender before they met on the set of the new sci-fi film Prometheus says that Fassbender is so talented that she wants to "punch him".
Fassbender, who played a sex addict in the movie Shame was tipped to be one of five men up for Best Actor at the Academy Awards in 2012, but he failed to secure enough votes.
Theron told Britain's You magazine, "My co-star Michael Fassbender is one of the funniest guys I've ever been around.
"I saw him in Shame, in which he plays a sex addict, and I didn't stop thinking about that film for weeks.
"No disrespect to the people who were nominated for Oscars, but the fact he wasn't to me was utter bulls**t.
"I think he's incredible. He's so effortless that I want to punch him! It just seeps out of him."
The pair co-star in Prometheus which is due for release in Irish cinemas on June 1.
