Sir Tom Jones has revealed that he wants to play a "bad guy" for his next role, after getting the acting bug in an upcoming TV drama.
The singer and The Voice UK mentor will make his screen debut next month in King Of The Teds, a drama which stars Alison Steadman and Brenda Bleythn and will air on Sky Arts.
Speaking about his upcoming role he said "I was a teddy boy and I was singing so if I hadn't had a hit record that could have been me".
Following on from that, when asked about future roles he said "I wouldn't mind playing a bad guy, again it wouldn't be that far removed".
The 71-year-old plays Ron, a former bottle factory worker who was once the top Teddy Boy in his area as a youth. He and his wife Tina find their lives turned upside down when they once again meet a friend from their early days.
