Swedish footballer Freddie Ljungberg is believed to be in talks to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house for their next series.
Channel Five producers are currently developing a team of celebrities for the next season following the huge success of the recent series, won by Denise Welch.
The 34-year-old footballer and model has modelled for Calvin Klein and played for Sweden, Arsenal and West Ham.
Sources close to the star say he was eager to join the cast last season but was committed to Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse. He signed for the football club last September, but departed last month, freeing him up for the foreseeable future.
No dates for the next series have been announced. CBB 2011 took place between August and September, with CBB 2012 taking place during January.
