Inception star Tom Hardy has said that he is in denial over the fact that he's starring in The Dark Knight Rises.
During a press conference for his upcoming film Warrior, the actor confessed that he can't allow himself to even think about the superhero movie for fear of being unable to act properly.
"It's such an honour to be asked to be in Batman, full stop," Hardy said. "If I think about it, what I'm doing, it would be so overwhelming that I probably wouldn't be able to do the job so I'd rather not talk about it. It's quite a big deal."
The 33-year-old, who will play the villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, also credited director Christopher Nolan and the film's crew with keeping him grounded.
"Chris and the crew are making it a very intimate environment, so you're never aware of the size," he said.
The Dark Knight Rises opens in cinemas in July 2012.
