X Factor champion Matt Cardle started the new year the way he ended 2010 - sitting pretty on top of the UK charts.
He held off Rihanna's ‘What's My Name’ to take the top slot for the third week running with his cover of Biffy Clyro's ‘When We Collide’.
But he fell just short of achieving the biggest selling single of the year. That honour went to Eminem's ‘Love The Way You Are’, a song featuring Rihanna.
The rapper's top seller was snapped up by 854,000 people during 2010. Cardle managed to flog 815,000 copies of his hit single.
