Popular TV presenters Ant and Dec are set to sign a new deal with ITV which will see their salary reduced by £5milion from their £20m deal, according to reports.

The Daily mail reports that the Newcastle duo, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who signed an exclusive deal with ITV in 2007, considered leaving and working for a variety of broadcasters but now look set to sign on the dotted line.

A source close to the pair is quoted as saying: "ITV have always said they are extremely keen to keep Ant and Dec on an exclusive deal. We are just pleased that this deal is close to being signed. It will be done within days."

Earlier this year 33-year-old McPartlin said the pair were prepared to take a pay cut saying "It's a tough time for everyone right now."

The pair are due to return with a new series of 'I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!' in December. Their other show, 'Saturday Night Takeaway' will not be returning as it is too expensive to make and they are currently working on another Saturday night show.

ITV lost £2.7billion last year and 1,000 employees lost their jobs.
