A Los Angeles judge has ruled that the sentencing of rapper Chris Brown for assaulting his former girlfriend, Rihanna, will be delayed for three weeks until August 27.
People reports that Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg made the decision yesterday to allow for clarification of his six-month community labour sentence.
Judge Schnegg said "We still have not received from Virginia what their community labor proposal would be, I do not favor community service, I favor something along the lines of Caltrans [freeway cleanup]."
20-year-old Brown attended yesterday’s hearing with family members. A deal was reached on the case last month with Brown pleading guilty to the assault charge. He is expected to be given five years probation in addition to community labour.
