'Ugly Betty' star America Ferrera is to play the lead role in a coming-of-age drama called 'An Invisible Sign of My Own'.
The Hollywood Reporter says the film is based on the Aimee Bender novel and tells the story of a 20-year-old loner (Ferrera) and maths teacher who must use her life experiences to help her students through their own problems.
Shooting is expected to begin shortly.
The film will be directed by Marilyn Agrelo, who also directed the acclaimed documentary 'Mad Hot Ballroom'
