'Holby City' was among the winners at the BAFTA TV awards in London last night.

The BBC One hospital drama was named Best Continuing Drama with BBC One's 'The Street' winning Best Drama Series. Channel 4's 'Britz' took the award for Best Drama Serial and the station's 'The Mark of Cain' was named Best Single Drama.

The Best Actor award went to Andrew Garfield for 'Boy A' (Channel 4) while Eileen Atkins won Best Actress for 'Cranford' (BBC One).

The award for Best Comedy Performance went to James Corden for 'Gavin and Stacey' (BBC Three); the series also won the Audience Award.

The Best Entertainment Performance award went to Harry Hill for 'Harry Hill's TV Burp' (ITV1); his series was also named Best Entertainment Programme.

Channel 4's 'Peep Show' was named Best Situation Comedy and the station's 'Fonejacker' won the award for Best Comedy Programme.

'The Tower: A Tale of Two Cities' (BBC One) won the award for Best Factual Series and 'Lie of the Land' (Channel 4) was named Best Single Documentary.

The award for Best International Show went to 'Heroes' and 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares' (Channel 4) won the Best Feature award.

Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain (BBC Two) was the winner of the Best Specialist Factual award and Channel 4's 'China's Stolen Children - A Dispatches Special' was the winner of the Best Current Affairs award.

The Best Interactivity Award went to BBC One's 'Spooks Interactive'.
