Cosby to release hip-hop record

Bill Cosby is to release a hip-hop album with a positive and uplifting message, and no profanity or misogyny allowed, next month.

Cosby, the star of the hugely successful 'The Cosby Show' in the 1980s and early 90s, says he will not rap on the new record himself because he, "would not know how to fix my mouth to some of the words."

Cosby added that record, titled 'The Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency', would be positive in nature.

It will be, he told Associated Press, be, "the opposite of what I think is the profanity for no particular reason, the misogyny for no particular reason. It really looks at the frustration and the anger that a young man may have."

His producer, Bill 'Spaceman' Patterson, said that Cosby has, "always understood rap's potential, but he was appalled by the foul language and the misogyny - the way people used a medium that could be used to elevate people, to open their eyes and provoke thought."
