Bollywood actor John Abraham is set to work with British actor Rachel Weisz in 'Luna', a film inspired by a true story of an American environmentalist's fight to save trees.

The film will be helmed by Toronto-based Indian director Deepa Mehta ('Water', 'The Republic of Love') and Abraham will play a fellow environmentalist.

The script, telling the story of how activist Julia Hill lived in a 1,000-year-old redwood tree in California for 738 days to prevent loggers from cutting it down, will be written by Oscar-winning writer David Ward.

Hill - who will be played by Weisz - eventually persuaded the Pacific Lumber Company to preserve the tree, which she called Luna, and all trees within a 3-acre buffer zone.
