Journalist Sinead Crowley has been appointed to the post of RTÉ Arts and Media Correspondent.

Crowley, a fluent Irish speaker, joined RTÉ in 1997 as a reporter in Irish language programmes, moving to the RTÉ Newsroom as a journalist two years later. 

Since then she has worked in all areas of news and is currently working with 'The Week in Politics' and the '9 O'Clock News'.

Crowley, who began work as a reporter and film reviewer with the Northside People, has also worked on Irish language station, Raidio na Life as well as local radio stations, Clare FM and Radio Kerry.

Of her new role, she said: "I have always been hugely passionate about the Arts, both in my professional and personal life and with a degree in Communications, I can bring this side into the factual area of the Media as well."
