New mother Katie Holmes joined her fiancé Tom Cruise at a screening of his new movie 'Mission: Impossible: III', making her first public appearance since the birth of their daughter Suri.
The 27-year-old actress arrived at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles with Cruise, in a Bugatti Veyron, said to be the world's fastest road car.
She posed for pictures with her fiancé on the red carpet and accompanied him while he signed autographs and chatted to fans.
One fan presented the couple with a homemade present of four, three-inch-high, knitted pink toy blocks with the letters S, U, R and I on them.
Cruise gave the gift to Holmes, hugged the fan and said: "This is really appreciated. I love homemade gifts."
Holmes said: "They're beautiful... That's so sweet. I know just where to put them."
The couple's baby daughter Suri was born 16 days ago. Cruise has described the birth as "spiritual" and "powerful".
