Will Smith may play the role of professor and professional explorer Dr S Allen Counter in a forthcoming film.
Counter, a neuroscience professor and administrator at Harvard University for the last 20 years, has travelled and written about subjects as varied as the high lead and mercury exposure levels among Andean children to his discovery of the Amer-Eskimo children of Arctic explorers in Northwest Greenland.
The project, to be based on his books about international exploration, has been described as an adventure romance.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures has bought the screenplay from screenwriter Sid Quashie.
