The founder and owner of Tribe Fitness Dance Studio in Dublin, Lisette Krol is one of Ireland's leading aerial and pole artists.

Last year, Lisette won Virgin Media’s reality talent competition The Big Deal, now Venezuela-born Lisette is joining the ensemble of WAKE, the latest spectacular from THISISPOPBABY, which opens at the National Stadium this week, as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival.

A spiritual successor to POPBABY's earlier smash RIOT, WAKE promises to 'lift the veil between worlds, where club culture meets Irish tradition in an exquisite frenzy of ritual, rave, grief and joy'.

FILM

One of my favourite movies is Interstellar. I find it so interesting how we as humans imagine what is beyond our own world. It’s a well-paced story with amazing visuals and great actors.

MUSIC

I’m a big fan of alternative electronic music with influences coming from jazz, indie and pop. Three of my favourite bands are The Blaze, Bonobo and Sohn - really beautiful and well-composed music that makes you dance, or in my case as an aerialist, train better, or just simply get lost.

BOOK

One of my favourite romantic novels is The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas. It tells the story of Marguerite Gautier, a beautiful and expensive courtesan who has many important lovers but falls in love with Armando Duval, a young bourgeois. Her nickname came from wearing a red camellia when she is menstruating and unavailable for sex and a white camellia when she is available to her lovers.

THEATRE

I’m currently in rehearsals for WAKE, a new theatre experience by THISISPOPBABY which premieres at the National Stadium, this September. I love being involved in this magnificent new stage creation that embraces the ecstasy of letting go, the wild abandon of the all-nighter and the beauty of transformation. It’ll be a night of gut-punching theatre, soaring spoken word, stomping beats and outrageous circus that will leave us ready to dance into the dawn. So if you are looking for a night out, this is it!

TV

To be honest I don’t watch TV much, but I always love Friends. For me, it's a timeless classic and I can watch it over and over again.

GIG

Last March, my fiancé and I went to see Hans Zimmer and his orchestra at the 3Arena. I can only describe it as an incredibly moving musical experience. I always get goosebumps watching a live orchestra. You will know all the themes, especially if you have watched movies like Inception, Batman, Interstellar and The Lion King. And he is coming again next June (2023)! Can’t wait!

PODCAST

I love podcasts about fitness and health. It’s so helpful for my work, and I especially like listening to athletes, and specifically women athletes.
