When people were asked to stay within a few kilometres of their homes, the poet, novelist and playwright Dermot Bolger spent the early part of lockdown taking nightly walks through Dublin streets, writing poems about often-overlooked small terraces and laneways that he passed.

This short film by the young Dublin filmmaker, Daniel Sedgwick (with sound by Mark Lynch), features Bolger reading a poem about one of Drumcondra's least known cul de sacs, Eden Terrace, which, while being, as he observes, "no Champs-Élysées, Ramblas or Alexanderplatz", also deserves "a laudatory verse".

It will be published in his new collection, Other People’s Lives, in 2022.
