As announced on the Late Late Toy Show, RTÉ and Creative Ireland are teaming up to create an exciting new online art competition aimed at young people on the island of Ireland.
This is Art! is inviting children under the age of 18 to create a piece of art, individually or as part of a group, to be showcased in an online gallery for generations to come.
The aim of this is project is to promote artistic practice among young people, encouraging them to explore their own creativity, originality and self-expression...

There are five different age group categories as part of This is Art!, including: ages 7 and under, age 8 to 11, age 12 to 15, age 16 to 18 and a group category. Within each age category, a number of prizes will be awarded; The Grand Prix Award, Commendations, Group Bursaries and vouchers for art materials or digital equipment.
Tadhg Crowley, one of the This is Art! judges encourages all of those thinking of taking part in the competition to find a way of being creative that brings you joy.
"Every so often, challenge yourself to try something new, use new materials, try new approaches - and have fun!" he said.
