Nora Twomey's acclaimed animated feature The Breadwinner showcases the breathtaking hand-drawn animation that has made Kilkenny's Cartoon Saloon one of the world’s most respected animation studios.

Now The Butler Gallery in Kilkenny are presenting an interactive, multi-media exhibition offering an imaginative look at Cartoon Saloon’s movie-making process, showcasing the various processes involved in the realisation of an animated feature film.

The immersive exhibition includes original drawings, storyboards, cutouts and animation, as well as the exquisite watercolours and cutouts that serve as vibrant backdrops to the animated action. An Animator-in-Residence will be present in the gallery at select times during the run of the exhibition, and visitors get the oppotunity to make their own cut-out designs similar to the ones populating the world of The Breadwinner.

The Breadwinner Exhibition runs until July 29th - more details here
