RTÉ News Report: Thomas Kent was given a State Funeral in Cork

The State funeral of Thomas Kent, one of 16 men executed following the 1916 Rising, took place in his home village in Cork on Sept 18 2015.

Kent was executed by firing squad following his conviction for armed rebellion in May 1916. President Michael D Higgins joined members of his family at St Nicholas' Church in Castlelyons.

Kent, who had been buried in Cork Prison, was laid to rest alongside his brothers. Taoiseach Enda Kenny delivered the graveside oration
