Terry Wogan plays a round of golf at Dun Laoghaire and takes the money from an RTÉ News reporter.
The Terry Wogan Golf Classic is an annual event encouraging celebrities from Britain and Ireland to raise badly needed funds for the homeless children's hostel at Percy Place in Dublin.
Terry was in Dublin to promote the event which this year will also benefit the Irish Heart Foundation.
Over a round of golf in Dun Laoghaire Terry Wogan told with reporter Colm Murray how the fundraiser works and who would be taking part. Entertainers Little and Large, Joe Dolan and Paddy Cole are among the celebrity golfers. Money raised comes from sponsors who pay for a team led by a celebrity to take part in the classic.
Although a keen golfer Terry Wogan say he does not take the game too seriously.
On the putting green Terry Wogan and Colm Connolly have a bet which sees Terry make off with the winnings of a fiver.
An RTÉ News report broadcast on 30 March 1989. The reporter is Colm Murray.
