Dublin taxi drivers organised a special day out for 800 children in Leopardstown Racecourse.

The Dublin taxi men's 22nd annual outing for children with disabilities is held at Blinkers in Leopardstown Racecourse.

At 10:30 am the taxi drivers collect 800 children from hospitals, along with 300 nurses and helpers. A convoy of 350 taxis takes them to Blinkers where they are treated to

A day of fun, minerals and ice-cream.

Along with the treats there is a hot meal, a disco, and guest entertainers including Maureen Potter, Eileen Reid, Ann McConnell and Sonny Knowles.

On the day, everything from lollipops to laughs was provided free and the taxi drivers did all the cooking themselves.
