A major retail development is to be built on a site once owned by the Slazenger family.
Construction work begins on the new shopping complex located on a prime 4-acre site on the corner of St Stephens Green and South King Street in Dublin. The site was originally to be developed by Patrick Gallagher but when he ran into financial trouble it was taken over by The British Land Company and Power Securities.
It will take two years and cost £15 million to development a multi-story shopping complex that will include parking for 700 cars. During construction a thousand jobs will be created and when complete the St.Stephens Green Shopping Centre will employ two and a half thousand people.
