Elkie Brooks performs 'Fool If You Think It's Over' on The Late Late Show.

Born Elaine Bookbinder from Broughton, Salford in the United Kingdom, Elkie Brooks started singing professionally in cabaret clubs in the 1960s. She was also a jazz singer, and in the 1970s was a member of English rock band Vinegar Joe.

Launching a solo career in 1974 with the album 'Rich Man's Woman’ Elkie Brooks had an international hit in 1977 with the single ‘Pearl’s A Singer’.

'Fool If You Think It's Over' from her album ‘Pearls’ was a hit in Ireland, with the album reaching Number 5 in the Irish charts in 1981.
