H-Block support rallies take place in Monaghan town and at Bunratty Castle, County Clare.

Supporters of the H-Block hunger strikers hold a protest march through Monaghan town. Led by a man carrying the tricolour and men wearing blankets, large numbers of supporters with banners and placards march through the town to Church Square where speeches are given.

On the same afternoon tourists and visitors to Bunratty Castle are greeted by members of the Shannon and Clare Smash the H-Block Committee who conduct a protest outside and on top of the fifteenth century tower house and banqueting hall.
